Why was I charged?

Why was I charged?

Most unexpected charges come down to one thing: subscriptions renew automatically.

When you subscribe to Captiono Pro, your plan renews at the end of each billing cycle — monthly, every 3 months, or yearly, depending on the plan you chose — until you turn off auto-renewal. This is handled by the App Store or Google Play, not by Captiono directly.

The most common reasons for a charge:

  • Your subscription renewed — If your billing cycle ended, your plan renewed automatically. You can see your next renewal date and turn off auto-renewal anytime in your store settings (see “How to cancel your subscription”).
  • A free trial ended — If you started with a trial, you’re charged automatically when it ends unless you cancel before the trial is over.
  • You cancelled but were still charged — Cancelling stops the next renewal — it doesn’t refund the current period. If you cancelled right around your renewal date, the charge may have already gone through.

Still don’t recognize the charge?

Check your purchase history directly with the store:

  • iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Media & Purchases → Purchase History
  • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history

If something still looks wrong, see “Refunds” below or contact us — include your platform and purchase receipt so we can help faster.

Refunds

Refunds for Captiono are handled directly by the App Store and Google Play — not by Captiono. Because all purchases go through them, they manage refunds according to their own policies, and we’re not able to issue them on our side.

The good news: requesting one is quick, and we’ll walk you through it.

📱 On iPhone (App Store)

  • Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID
  • Find your Captiono purchase
  • Tap Report a Problem and choose a reason to request a refund

Apple reviews each request and decides the outcome.

🤖 On Android (Google Play)

  • Open the Google Play Store
  • Go to Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history
  • Find your Captiono purchase, tap it, and select Request a refund or Report a problem

Google reviews each request and decides the outcome.

A few things worth knowing

  • Refunds aren’t guaranteed — the final decision rests with Apple or Google.
  • Subscriptions don’t auto-refund when you cancel; cancelling stops future renewals but doesn’t refund the current period.
  • This doesn’t affect any consumer rights you have under applicable law that can’t be waived.
